New Lighting for All Saints' Church
On the south wall in the church is a brass plaque commemorating Thomas Salisbury Donne, the son of Thomas and Doris Donne. Sadly Thomas Salisbury died at the age of 13 years on the 26th April 1934.
The plaque reads:
"... in accordance with his wish that this church should be electrically lit, the installation carried out in the year 1935 is the gift of his parents and sister Vivien."
Parishioners will have been very grateful for this gift for many years. However the lighting does now need replacing and the All Saints' PCC is undertaking a project to so that new lighting will hopefully be in place in the New Year.
We now have the very good news that our bid to Viridor for a grant towards the project has been successful, and if anyone would like to contribute to this project, perhaps in memory of a loved one, please contact Rev Liz Mortimer.
The work to install the lighting commenced on the 25th January and was completed at the the end of March 2016.
